To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach for another is to risk involvement.
To expose your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To believe is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing, do nothing, have nothing, are nothing.
They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live.
Chained by their attitudes they are slaves;
they have forfeited their freedom.
Only a person who risks is free.

All my love!

  1. Peter Preston says:

A great poem that focuses the mind on the question of what freedom really is – the power to act, to make choices and take decisions. The consequences of my freedom to act will be someone els's freedom to react, and the consquences of this will be …. movement, interaction, life, for better or worse – but whatever happens is better than existing under cover.

  2. That was wonderful..
I have gone into business for myself and it has been
a slow start and I have days when I don't feel very upbeat
and positive about my choice, so I hide at my desk and
make excuses, because I don't want to fail any worse,.
But in my heart I know that my choice to go into this business
was and is solid and that it is a fantastic opportunity and
a tremendous product, so I just have to get out of my own
    Thank You for this inspiration
I needed it.. What do they say –

when the pupil is ready the teacher will come..
    Have a glorious Day
